Becoming Ruby was about this girl and her family. Rubys family went on a vacation to their cottage on a beach. This is where Ruby made friends with 2 boys there. One of the boys had a scare on his left shoulder. And their other one had brown hair. Ruby got asked out by the boy with the scar, out to a summer dance at the town hall. she found out were he lived the day she was leaving for home. When she got home it was time for school. By that time Ruby for got all about the boy at the beach and fell in love with a boy 1-3 years older then she was. Ruby has an older brother and he knows all about her new boy friend. Because he's 1-3 years older than her so he'll have more expectations for his girlfriends. Ruby egnors her her brother and gosh on a date with him. Ruby goes to the school, while slow dancing with him he pushes her to word the end of the gym. And they get coat making out. After the dance he drives Ruby home and stops at a dead and road. Making her do thing she has never done with a boy,Ruby felt horrified. Dumping him the necked day. Ruby still felt horrified about what her ex-boyfriend made her do.

I really enjoyed this book it keypad in the book and I really never wanted to put it down. There is nothing I would change about this book. The author did an awesome job making this book suspense, happy, sad and a mystery all the same time. I loved this book. I was an amazing book I really recommend this book out to a lot of kids.
